Deb Robinson Thompson

If you’re looking to improve the quality of your life, counseling may be right for you. Whenever there is anything that interferes with your happiness and prevents you from achieving your goals, I may be able to help.

Therapy is different than talking to a friend. I’ll be an unbiased supporter and will tailor sessions to your individual needs and preferences. I use a supportive and active approach drawing from Psychodynamic, Insight-oriented Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Polyvagal Theory.

Every person is an expert on themselves but still has so much to discover. We can focus on developing skills to better cope with challenges, on increasing understanding of self and others, on understanding difficult emotions, and on identifying barriers to positive change and working through them. Together, we can get you closer to who you want to be.

You may be coming to counseling for many reasons including

  • Stress
  • Sadness
  • Life transitions
  • Struggles at home or work
  • Uncertainty about your career path
  • Relationship conflict
  • Grief
  • Low self-esteem
  • Managing Attention Deficit Disorder
  • Questions about your sexuality
  • Coming out
  • Exploring your gender identity
  • Concerns about alcohol use, drug use, or other addictive behavior

If your specific need was not addressed here, I am still willing and able to help.
